i recently moved to tracy california, i adopted a child and he is not white, i lived near wanda hirsch elementary and when i tried to enrolled him, they gave me so much red tape because the child spoke Spanish. i mean, the child is american citizen yet because he speaks spanish they denied him to go to wanda hirsch school. i wanted him to go to hirsch because its closest to our house (which i pay like $6000 in taxes every year) instead, they are sending him to another school. i can see how they are segregating our kinds. you dont have to take my word for it, just drive by the school and you will see there is not much diversity. all the minority kids are being sent to other schools. i dont know why this is happening. but its really sad. i thought this sort of discrimination was over. as a tax payer i feel so disappointed. i have a big challenge ahead on how i am going to resolve this. has anyone else received any discrimination by the tracy school district? or is it just me?
