no doubt by now you probably have visited a website and you see a link that says 'permalink' so what ia a permalink anyway? well, if you dont know, i will try to give you an explanation as to what permalinks really are. so read on

basically, a permalink is a URL that can easy identify what the url is about.



for example, this post i am writing to you right now, i have created in permalink format. the url of this post is:

http://www.wallpaperama.com/forums/_explain-what-are-permalinks.html

as you can see the _explain-what-are-permalinks.html this is a permalink URL

i could have as easy created this post to show the URL of this like this:

http://www.wallpaperama.com/forums/p?post_id=256

if i would have created the URL like this, it would be difficult to know what the url was about, because it only shows the post id number instead of what the post is about
