i started using putty for my ssh access as you advised. i want to save my login and password so i can transfer to another computer. do you know how i can export/import my saved passwords?

you cant, this is not allowed, it stores your configuration in the registry instead of a file. there is no way ti import and export from one machine to another for obvious security reasons.
