if you are like me and you have microsoft windows XP, the annoying mesesnger icon on the task bar is always there. To finally get rid of it and remove it once and for all, you can follow these simple step by step tutorial guide on how to remove this anoying program from your computer. I found out how to do this after i had uninstal it though "add / remove programs" in the control panel but it keeps coming back. removing it through "add / remove programs" doesn't work. i kept trying until i had to do it manually by follow these steps:
1. Start Run and type: C:\WINDOWS\INF\SYSOC.INF and click OK
2. open it with notepad
3. look for the line where it says: msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 and delete this line and save
4. go to add/remove programs in the control panel
5. Click on the left menu where it says: "Add/Remove Windowns Componets"
6. scroll down and look for "Windows Messenger" icon and uncheck the check box to remove it, then click next
7. restart your PC.
